HELP! How can I treat Crohn’s Disease?

I am often asked about therapy for Crohn’s disease and if it is possible to successfully treat the complaint this way, or at least reduce the discomfort and pain.

Here’s a typical scenario and how therapy can be the solution:

Q:  I have been diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, an inflammation of the wall of the gut.  I suffer with diarrhoea and abdominal pain.  What natural remedies can I try?

A:  Whilst experts are still unsure of precisely what causes Crohn’s Disease, what is known is that the mind and body can and do impact on each other – stressful thoughts in the mind trigger off unwanted physical responses in the body.

Studies have shown that hypnotherapy and NLP are very effective at altering pain perception and suppressing the secretion of stress hormones, making the flare-ups experienced by Crohn’s sufferers easier to deal with.

Take 10 minutes each day to detox your mind – begin by blowing out three long, slow breaths – this will rid your body of the stress chemicals collecting there.  Next, create a ‘relaxing movie in your mind’.  Think of lying on a sunny beach, relaxing in a warm bath – whatever makes you feel good.  Not only does this dissociate you from your discomfort, but emptying your mind of daily stress will mean your body will synchronise and begin to heal itself.

With a bit of practise, you’ll easily be able to bring this image to mind when you need it most.
